Materials Characterization & Failure Analysis Laboratory

Overview

The Materials Performance & Failure Analysis Laboratory focuses on Applied Research in Experimental, Theoretical, and Numerical Solid Mechanics with emphasis in Mechanical Metallurgy; Residual Stress Measurement and Analysis; Fracture Mechanics and Fractography; Impact and Damage Mechanics; Pressure Vessel Design; Tribology and Walkway Safety; Corrosion; Root-cause Failure Analysis; and Forensic Engineering. Applied Research differs from Fundamental (basic) Research in its direct and immediate application to Real-World problems and the development of practical and actionable solutions to a specific set of circumstances. Applied research finds application in root-cause failure analysis, design, product development and improvement, safety, and dispute resolution.

If your project requires research or support in any of the above areas, please feel free to contact us. We will gladly put you in touch with personnel that may be able to help you with your project.
